Ways To Quit Smoking
Out of the many ways to quit smoking, the
way I quit
is the best way. My
health
started to improve, I
saved money
and I didn’t get stressed or feel the withdrawal effects of cigarettes.
I didn’t want to spend my money buying medications and gadgets that supposedly make you quit. The problem with these medications is that they have side effects. It didn’t make sense to me to use medicine that would give me other health issues. I thought about using the
nicotine gums
and
nicotine patches,
but I don’t believe that they truly help reduce the
nicotine
addiction. All I needed was the willingness to quit. That’s all, nothing more, nothing less. I tried to quit
cold turkey,
but that did not work for me. I read about using
acupuncture
to quit, but I don’t see how sticking a bunch of needles in my body would help me quit. I’ve heard people talk about seeing a
hypnotist,
but I didn’t believe those mind tricks would work for me. I could not even afford one even if I wanted to. If you are not a strong willed person and you need someone’s help to quit then you can call this number
1-800-QUIT-NOW
or click on the link to visit their website. This is a government sponsored program designed to help you quit. You speak with counselors at any time and any day and they will probably try to convince you to take those medications anyways. Some people think that using
smokeless tobacco
products is a good way of quitting smoking. Well in a way, they have stopped smoking but they are still doing damage to their bodies, especially to their mouths. Risking
mouth cancer
or bad breath with
chewing
or
dipping tobacco
is definitely not the best way to quit. I think quitting on your own will is still the best way.
